What is an affordable GST filing service? An affordable GST filing service handles your monthly GST returns for a fixed monthly fee instead of a charge for each return. A regular small business files GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B every month (or quarterly under QRMP), plus nil returns in months with no sales. A fixed fee makes the cost predictable, but it is only cheaper than per-return billing if the plan covers what you actually need. At Tax Garden, GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B filing starts at Rs 1,500 a month.
This guide explains what a monthly GST filing fee should cover, what usually costs extra, and how to work out whether a flat plan is cheaper for your business.
What a GST Filing Fee Should Cover
Every regular GST taxpayer has the same core monthly work:
- GSTR-1: invoice-wise outward supplies, due on the 11th (or the 13th after the quarter under QRMP)
- GSTR-3B: the summary return where tax is paid, due on the 20th (22nd or 24th after the quarter under QRMP)
- ITC reconciliation: matching your purchase register against GSTR-2B and acting on supplier invoices in IMS before filing GSTR-3B
- Nil returns in any month with no sales or purchases
Other work comes up less often and is often priced separately: the annual return (GSTR-9, mandatory above Rs 2 crore turnover) and GSTR-9C (above Rs 5 crore), replies to GST notices, LUT filing for exporters, registration amendments and refund applications. For the full monthly cycle, see our GST return filing guide for proprietors.

Which plan fits your filing load
- Up to 100 invoices a month, GST only: GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B filing at Rs 1,500.
- Shop or trader that also deducts TDS on rent or contractors: Retail Shops GST Package at Rs 2,100, which adds TDS filings up to 200 transactions.
- Busy months above 100 invoices: the Rs 3,000 tier (up to 225) or Rs 5,000 tier (up to 500), so the fee follows your volume.
- Private limited company needing ROC and ITR as well: Compliance Standard at Rs 6,200.
- Staff on payroll or several GSTINs: Compliance + Payroll at Rs 12,500, or Multi-GSTIN / Scale at Rs 17,600.
Not sure which tier you fall in? Share last month's invoice count through our GST filing service page and we will confirm the plan in writing before you start.
Is a Flat Fee Cheaper Than Paying Per Return?
Not always. A worked example with illustrative figures shows how to compare. For a provider-by-provider view, see best GST filing service in India: managed service vs software.
A trader files GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B monthly with about 80 invoices a month, and also files quarterly TDS returns for rent and contractor payments.
| Per-return arrangement (illustrative) | Tax Garden Retail Shops GST Package | |
|---|---|---|
| GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B | Rs 1,200 a month = Rs 14,400 a year | Included |
| Quarterly TDS returns | Rs 1,000 per quarter = Rs 4,000 a year | Included |
| Annual cost | Rs 18,400 | Rs 25,200 if paid monthly, or Rs 21,420 paid annually |
Here the per-return arrangement is cheaper on fees alone. A plan earns its cost when the work it includes would otherwise be billed separately or done badly: monthly GSTR-2B reconciliation, IMS review before the 14th, and catching GSTR-1 errors through GSTR-1A before GSTR-3B is filed, since GSTR-3B sales figures can no longer be edited. A business that only needs GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B with under 100 transactions pays Rs 1,500 a month with us, or Rs 18,000 a year.
Plug in your own quotes. If you have several GSTINs, payroll or ROC filings too, compare against a bundled plan rather than a GST-only one.
What to Compare Between Providers
Prices on provider websites change often, so compare written quotes on these points rather than headline numbers:
| Question to ask | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Which returns are included, and up to how many transactions? | Transaction-based tiers can move you to a higher price in busy months |
| Is GSTR-2B and IMS reconciliation done every month? | Credit claimed on invoices not in GSTR-2B must be reversed with interest |
| Are amendments and GSTR-1A corrections included? | GSTR-3B sales figures are locked to GSTR-1, so corrections must happen in GSTR-1A |
| Are notice replies and the annual return extra? | These are the most common add-on charges |
| Who files, and how quickly do you get the acknowledgement? | You stay liable for late fees of Rs 50 a day (Rs 20 for nil returns) and 18% interest on late tax |
| Is there a named contact? | Continuity matters when a notice arrives about a past period |

Who a Monthly GST Plan Suits
- B2B traders and service firms whose buyers depend on timely GSTR-1 filing for their ITC.
- E-commerce sellers with frequent credit notes and TCS credits to accept in GSTR-2X.
- Businesses with several GSTINs, where one team reconciles all registrations together.
- Owners without an in-house accountant who want deadlines and reconciliation handled.
A very small B2C shop with few purchases may be better served by the composition scheme, which needs only CMP-08 each quarter and an annual GSTR-4. See our composition scheme guide.
